about this site
(WARNING: i am a huge rambler. don't feel like you need to read this entire thing. feel free to scroll to whatever you want to know!)
hello! here's a little information about this site! like i said on my homepage, this site exists to be a happy place for me, and hopefully for others too!
ive wanted to make my own site for a long time, but html has always been very intimidating for me.
thankfully, f2u templates have made starting this site a lot easier and the neocities/old web community is filled with incredible resources for getting started with html/css.
i'm super thankful for all of the resources that ive found and used so far. it's still a little daunting, but little by little i'm becoming more confident in my skills :)
i havent been really active on traditional social media (besides tumblr but...does that really count?) for a long time because of my anxiety, but i love the internet and the community it can bring (especially since it's hard to find others irl who share my interests).
i think that's why im drawn to the old web community. and also just my general love for customization and old web aesthetics. im happy to be here!
this site was coded using visual studio code. i use firefox as my primary browser. it is not yet optimized for mobile (you've been warned). opened on august 3rd 2024!
why the name completebest?
completebest has been my tumblr url for a couple years now (at least). complete best is actually the name of jpop group
perfume's first full length album. and no it's not a best of album! well not technically...
it has the name complete best because it is comprised of all of the indie singles and bsides that perfume had put out up until that time. it's a bit of a silly and confusing name for a first album but maybe that's why i like it. complete best is one of my favorite albums of all time. it
encapsulates so many elements of jpop and music in general that i adore. it was also a stepping stone towards my introduction to the genre of
shibuya kei, which is one of (if not my all time) favorite genres. the mid-2000s cyber-futurism aesthetic of the album (see above) and its singles is also so great and charming.
i think the idea of something fitting "your aesthetic" (whatever that even means!) is outdated and limiting. but if there was one thing i could use to describe my tastes and sensibilities, it would be this album. it's very special to me! and that's why the name has stuck around.
about me
this is the hard part for me. talking about myself has to be one of my least favorite things. anything else i can ramble on about forever (as you might be able to tell :p) but when it comes to myself i tend to get stuck. but since this is a personal site, context about who i am is a little necessary. the basics are listed on the
profile
section to your right.
i use the name
kero as a nickname online, which stems from my love of the sanrio character keroppi, cardcaptor sakura, and the band kero kero bonito.
i am the self proclaimed #1 sega dreamcast fan, and im very partial to jpop, obscure video games, shoujosei manga, old 3d graphics, weird junk from the 2000s, cats, most things cute and colorful, and tiny plastic collectibles.
some of my hobbies include listening to and collecting music, games, journal/collaging, reading, trying new recipes, collecting and learning about my interests, and learning new things in general (obscure wikipedia pages are my favorite).
i would say my two biggest loves are music and video games (except i kind of like learning about games more than playing them but that's a whole other thing).
i'm currently a college student studying english, and i'd like to study library science in the future.
finally, here's a list of some of my favorites, myspace style. (thank you for reading this far!)
